Mary Helen (Beksha) Mercer, 72, died October 1 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. She was the wife of Alan Mercer for the past 49 years.
Born in Milford, April 2,1952, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anne (McCahill) Beksha, Mary was raised in Medway and had lived in Franklin for over 25 years before returning to Medway.
She was a graduate of Medway High School where she excelled in gymnastics and enjoyed cheerleading. She attained a degree as a certified dental assistant from the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry.
Mary had been a dental assistant at several local dental offices including Dr. Richard Berry, DMD of Medway.
Above all Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. Mary taught us the value of maintaining family connections, no matter the distance. Mary always made time for the people she cared about, and showed us that family always comes first. Everyone who knew Mary, knew how proud she was of the people she loved.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Justin Mercer and his wife Melissa Mercer of Wrentham.
She is also survived by her siblings, Edward Beksha of Franklin, Joseph & Renay Beksha of Narraganset, Rhode Island, Joanne Beksha Brown of Medway, Peter Beksha of Franklin, her sister in law Kathleen Murphy Beksha of Attleboro and the late Daniel Beksha.
She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Edward Beksha Jr., Casey Beksha, Lisa Bravo, Joseph Beksha III, Johnny Beksha, Andrew Wilber, Richard Wilber Jr., Peter Beksha Jr., Kate Haddad, Daniel Beksha II, Patrick Beksha, Ashley Mercer Schoen, Christopher Mercer, Jill Mercer, Beth Mercer Narducci, Amy Mercer Buliung, and Ali Funkhouser.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, October 9 from 4-7 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 10 at St. Joseph Church, Medway at 10:00a.m.
Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.

Walter Joseph Brady

Walter Joseph Brady, 83, of Bellingham, formerly of Franklin, died October 4 at Milford Regional Medical Center with his wife by his side following a brief illness. He was the husband of Diane (Pedersen) Brady for the past 56 years.
Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Walter Joseph and Dorothy (McCarthy) Brady. Walter was raised in Somerville and South Boston and had lived in Franklin for over 40 years before moving to Bellingham ten years ago.
Walter had been a distribution manager for a glass manufacturing plant in Milford for over 40 years. More recently, he was a greeter at Walmart for 10 years in Bellingham where he enjoyed seeing people from his community and volunteered at the local splash park in the summers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Daniel Brady and his wife Heather of Woodstock Valley, CT, Brenda Brady-Vargas of East Providence, RI, and he was the father of the late Kari Ann Sanchez of Franklin.
Walter was the brother of the late Edmond Brady of Plymouth, Thomas Brady of Texas, and Francis Brady of Norwood.
He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Alexander Sanchez of South Boston, Katelyn Brady of Norfolk, VA, Nicholas Sanchez of Stoughton, Allison and Matthew Brady of Woodstock Valley, CT, and Briana and Mariana Vargas of East Providence, RI. He was the adored uncle of many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, October 11 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 10 from 4-7 p.m.
