Craig Brooks, wife Meredith, and their three children.
There's a first time for everything, including running the 26-mile Boston Marathon. That's the personal challenge being undertaken by Franklin resident,
Craig
Brooks.
Brooks explains that he is running the 129th Boston Marathon as a member of the Dana Farber
Marathon Challenge team on behalf of his wife, Meredith, who was
diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer in 2023 shortly after giving
birth to the couple's third child. "I have never run in any sort of race, and probably ran a max of three miles once in a while before this so it is both a personal challenge as well as finding a way to give back by meeting my fundraising goal and help the total team goal of raising $8.5 million," said Brooks.
As he noted on his fundraising site, "Running 26.2 miles is nothing compared to what Meredith and other cancer patients endure every single day. But I know that every step I take will help support the incredible investigators and the life-changing strides they are making in cancer research. Your donation will make a real difference."
