Above, a Franklin quilter, Brad Steinka, was awarded a ribbon at the recent Rhododendron Needlers Quilt Guild (RNQG) quilt show for Barn Quilt shown above.
Lisa Steinka, quilter of Franklin, teased her husband that when crafting in his woodworking shop he is “quilting with wood”. He lived up to that statement by creating a beautiful Barn Quilt to adorn their home. Brad Steinka was awarded a Second Place Ribbon for “He Made It For Me” Barn Quilt in the Other category.
Medway's Anh Fahey won a Second Place Ribbon in the Hand Pieced Quilt category for her “Woven Star” Quilt. She learned that stitching a swirl is difficult to start because she couldn’t see under the
sewing foot and, most importantly, it was best to keep going in the same direction!
RNQG celebrated their 40th Anniversary at the “A Ruby Celebration” show. RNQG is grateful for financial support for the show from Canton, Sharon and Westwood Cultural Councils, Roche Bros and Dedham Savings.
