Medway High School welcomed 55 industry professionals into the building on Dec. 10 for its inaugural Career Day, giving students a firsthand look at a wide range of post-graduation career paths.

Students met with professionals from fields including engineering, health care, business, public service and the arts. Throughout the day, presenters shared their personal career journeys and discussed the skills and education needed to succeed in today's workforce.

Career Day is part of Medway High School's My Career and Academic Plan (MyCAP) program, which helps students prepare for life after graduation by encouraging exploration of career options aligned with their interests and strengths.

“I’d like to thank all of the professionals who took time out of their day to meet our students,” said Innovation Career Pathways Coordinator Carly Brousseau. “Career Day supports students as they make plans and set goals for their futures by offering a valuable opportunity to connect with real-world professionals and take the first-hand knowledge and experience to build toward their own postsecondary futures.”

“When students connect with professionals who share their interests, they are able to explore career paths on a deeper level, build relationships with industry experts and learn about the many options available to them,” said Principal John Murray. “These opportunities are incredibly valuable, and we're grateful to the community members who made this day possible.”
