The town of Medway has made two recent posts relating to trash pickup.
First. the town asks everyone to be mindful of the impact of the Christmas holiday and New Year’s Day (1/1/25), trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day on the holiday and the following day.
• Thursday pickups will occur on Friday
• Friday pickups will occur on Saturday
Second, some additional, general delays are possible. Recently, the town noted, the hauler had a 2-hour wait time to unload recently, so they didn’t finish up their route until 6:45 pm. Over the next 4-6 weeks, residents should be patient and leave trash and recycling out longer than you typically do to accommodate the uptick in material volume this time of year. Finally, the town asks residents to remember to break down all cardboard boxes before placing them in the recycling cart. Recycling carts must have lids fully closed to be collected. Excess cardboard that doesn't fit in the cart can always be brought to the Recycling Center at 46 Broad Street.
