Letter to the Editor:
Cornerstone at Milford Stockings for Seniors Event Supports Local Seniors in Need On behalf of Cornerstone at Milford, the staff and the residents, I would like to thank the businesses and organizations in Milford and the neighboring towns of Franklin, Bellingham, and Medway for their kind donations to our Stockings for Seniors event. It’s hard to believe, but Stockings for Seniors is in its 12th year. This annual event allows Cornerstone at Milford seniors to support their peers in our region, during what can be a challenging time of year.
Cornerstone at Milford originally developed this event around the holidays in the hopes of providing kindness, recognition, and love to those who may not have family nearby or may have experienced a loss this year. We distributed over 250 stockings filled with personal care items such as mittens, socks, hand lotion, lip balm, playing cards, and notebooks. We want to extend a special thank you to everyone who generously supported us this year, whether you donated your time or items for distribution.
We wish to thank: Milford Senior Center Sewing Club Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School Rosemary Tsacoyianis-Centered Care Coaching by Ro Amare-Lisa Wood O'Malley Geropsychology - Kelly O’Malley, Owner Bright Agency Insurance - Krishna Swanson Realty One Group - Nancy Briggs and Martha Morese, Senior Realtor Specialists Homefield Credit Union Tri-County Regional Chamber of Commerce ERA Key Realty in Milford Jackie, Personal Aide With gratitude, Cornerstone at Milford Assisted Living & Compass Memory Support

Medway's Precinct 1 State Rep Has Perfect Vote Record
State Representative Michael Soter, R-Bellingham, maintained a perfect voting record in 2025, participating in all 116 roll call votes recorded in the House of Representatives between February 6, 2025, and November 19, 2025. Soter represents Medway's first precinct.
Representative Soter compiled a 100% attendance record this year by casting votes on several major policy initiatives during the first half of the 2025-2026 legislative session, including legislation that would require human trafficking awareness training for hospitality workers, provide $234 million in one-time financial support for fiscally strained hospitals and community health centers, and implement a formal licensing process for home care agencies operating in Massachusetts to help protect vulnerable clients receiving services.
Representative Soter also supported a proposal filed during the Fiscal Year 2026 House budget debate to repeal the 2023 no cost calls law, which provides unlimited phone calls for inmates at county and state correctional facilities, and redirect the $10 million in funding set aside for this program in the House budget to support unrestricted local aid for cities and towns. The amendment, which was rejected on a roll call vote of 26-128, also would have established a commission to study the fiscal challenges posed by this program and its impact on prisoner participation in state funded re-entry programs.
