A Medway nurse known for her work in the community, including fostering 20 children born addicted to drugs, has died after a long battle with cancer, her family told Boston 25 News.
As reported in Observer/Monitor, Shelly Sepulveda had been fighting cancer for two years. In recent weeks, she was surprised by the New England Patriots with tickets to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California.
Sepulveda died early Monday morning, just hours after the Patriots clinched a Super Bowl berth with a 10-7 victory over the Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game, her family said.
Sepulveda told team owner Robert Kraft when he surprised her with the tickets before the Patriots’ wild-card game against the Los Angeles Chargers, that watching the Patriots gave her an opportunity to not think about cancer.
