On Sunday, Peter Glass will come to the Franklin Historical Museum to share an overview of Scouting history and display some items and objects related to the generations of Scouting in the region. Super Bowl Sunday, when Glass was originally scheduled to present, is the anniversary of the founding of Scouting in America.*

Glass is Curator at the Skiddie Casoni Museum. The Casoni Museum, located at Camp Squanto in Plymouth, MA, is the only Scouting museum in New England integrated into a camp program, preserving the heritage of the Old Colony and Mayflower Councils. Operated by the Camp Squanto Alumni Association (CSAA), it displays Scouting artifacts and memorabilia and is dedicated to preserving local Scouting history and heritage with displays, artifacts, and publications related to Scouting in the region.

Alermo "Skiddie" Casoni (died December 30, 2004) was a prominent Scouting figure and one of the original founders of Camp Squanto in Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1948. A lifelong resident of Whitman, Massachusetts, he was heavily involved in local scouting for 75 years, acting as a Lone Scout, scoutmaster, and volunteer.

Glass  also serves as a Territorial Commissioner with Scouting America, and is a retired music teacher and band director. The museum opens at 1pm and closes at 4pm. Admission is free, donations are greatly appreciated.

[* February 8 marked the 116th anniversary of the founding of Scouting America, formerly Boy Scouts of America, in 1910.]
