Mary Donna Ferris, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 in Naples, Florida, Thursday, May 21. Known to all who loved her as Donna, Mom, or DD, she carried warmth and grace throughout a life well lived.
Donna was born in Dedham, Massachusetts, to George and Mary Lovely. She married the love of her life, Ron Ferris, and they built their life and raised their family in Medway, Massachusetts, where she was a cherished presence in her community for many years.
A woman of deep faith, Donna lived by an unwavering conviction — that doing the right thing, in the right way, was never truly optional. She held to that belief whether it was easy or hard, popular or not, and in doing so set an example that touched everyone around her.
Donna was dedicated to her husband and children, creating a safe, loving, and nurturing home. She loved her five siblings dearly, and she was blessed with many close and wonderful friendships that brought her immeasurable joy.
Donna was very involved in church, her prayer group, tennis and golf. She was an incredible cook and hostess, always having the best parties for family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Ron Ferris; her children, Ron and Jennifer Ferris and Elizabeth and Craig Gantner; and her six grandchildren, Ronnie, Natalie, Nora, Samantha, Michael, and Eliza, who were among the greatest joys of her life.
She is also survived by her siblings, Kathy, Lois, Kevin, and Karen and her husband Vic, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother Eddie and brother-in-law Eddie.
