Choking Response Training

The Franklin Health Department is offering a FREE Choking Response Training for our community, and we'd appreciate your help spreading the word!

This
1-hour educational class will teach participants how to recognize and
respond to choking emergencies involving adults, children, and infants.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to practice back blows and
abdominal/chest thrusts.

Franklin's DelCarte Ponds to be Treated

The Franklin Conservation Department would like to inform residents that Upper and Lower DelCarte Ponds will undergo aquatic vegetation treatment on Thursday, July 30, 2026, to help control nuisance aquatic vegetation.

For the day of the treatment, the following activities are restricted:

  • Drinking or cooking with pond water
  • Boating
  • Fishing
  • Swimming
  • Watering livestock
  • Irrigation

    All restrictions will be lifted on Friday, July 31, 2026, and the ponds will reopen for normal public use.

Beaver Street Interceptor Update

Construction Updates ~ Monday, July 27 through Friday July 31

RT. 140 (West Central Street) Lane Closure Alert: Monday (7/27) - Friday (7/31) 7 AM to 3 PMStarting Monday, 7/27, the contractor will work along the Route 140 gutter line to repair the pavement and driveway aprons. The work will be contained within the southbound lane from Burger King to Beaver Street. During this time, lane closures will occur as needed on this section of RT. 140. Please use caution when traveling in this area and follow all posted signs.

Pond Street Easement - No Traffic Impact

Starting Tuesday, 7/28, through Thursday, 7/30, a second contractor will line a sewer manhole within the Pond Street Easement. There will be no traffic impact for this work.

Franklin Police Hiring Clinicians

The Franklin Police Department is seeking a compassionate, licensed (or license-eligible) mental health professional to "join our team as a Co-Response Clinician.In this rewarding role, you'll partner directly with Franklin Police officers to respond to calls for service, provide on-scene crisis intervention, conduct clinical assessments, connect individuals and families with community resources, and help improve outcomes during behavioral health emergencies."

Snap Circuits in Medway
Wednesday from 12-2 July 29, Aug 5, 12, and 19 for ages 6 and up at the Medway Library.. Drop in and try out Snap Circuits to learn basic engineering, electronics and circuitry through exploration. No registration required but guardians must be present.
