Donna M. (Doolan) Oteri, 78, a Franklin resident for 50 years and longtime seasonal resident of Naples, Florida, died peacefully at her home in Franklin on Friday, May 22, 2026, following an extended period of failing health, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of Charles F. Oteri, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love and family in Franklin, where their home eventually became surrounded by the homes of their children and grandchildren.
Born in Boston on February 16, 1948, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Isabel (Riordan) Doolan. She was raised and educated in Brookline and was a 1966 graduate of Brookline High School.
Donna spent her entire working career in the dental field. She worked for many years at Franklin Dental Associates and later with Dr. Jon Turesky, DMD, in Norwood/Mansfield, where she served as office manager until retiring 16 years ago.
She was a devoted 50-year member of St. Mary’s Catholic Women’s Club and a longtime member of the Sons of Italy.
Donna’s children and grandchildren were the center of her life, and she treasured every opportunity to care for them. She loved hosting holidays at her home, where she insisted on doing all the cooking herself, creating countless cherished memories around her table.
While wintering in Naples, she rarely spent time at the beach, preferring instead to gather neighbors and friends at her home—often simply sitting together in the garage, sharing stories and enjoying a glass of sangria.
Donna had one great passion in life: her family. She played a special role in helping to raise each of her six grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Grammie.” She found joy in cooking her famous meatballs, reading Danielle Steel novels, watching Hallmark movies, and caring for the people she loved most.
Above all, Donna will be remembered for her warmth, strength, generosity, and the deep unconditional love she gave so freely.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her loving children, Brendon C. Oteri, Sean A. Oteri and his wife Dianne, and Michelle L. Davide and her husband Michael, all of Franklin. She was the cherished grandmother of Zackery, Anthony, Jordan, Michael, Isabella, and Gabriella.
Donna is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was also the sister of the late Denis P. Doolan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday May 28th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM. To view the Mass stmarysfranklin.org
Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
