On Wednesday, members of “Justice for Sandra Birchmore” endorsed Adam Deitch for Norfolk County District Attorney. Justice for Sandra Birchmore was founded by members of Sandra’s family and other community members who are fighting for the truth behind Sandra’s murder and to hold those responsible accountable.

“The Norfolk County District Attorney’s office has not delivered justice, they have denied justice for Sandra Birchmore” said Barbara Wright, Sandra Birchmore’s cousin and one of the founders of the Justice for Sandra Birchmore group. “I’m supporting Adam Deitch for District Attorney because I feel he has the background and the know-how to make the changes we need in Norfolk County.”

“The Norfolk County DA’s office is supposed to stand up for people who were murdered, and to me they were treating her like garbage and tossing her away,” said Melissa Berry, Justice for Sandra Birchmore co-founder. “Adam Deitch is the only candidate with the experience both standing up to entrenched institutions and fighting for victims and their families. He will deliver justice for Sandra Birchmore.”

“I am honored to have the endorsement of Barbara, Melissa, and so many others in the Justice for Sandra Birchmore movement. As I said when members of Sandra’s family endorsed our campaign earlier this year, what happened to Sandra Birchmore was an unspeakable tragedy, a profound miscarriage of justice at the state level, and a glaring example of why we need fundamental change in the DA’s office,” said Adam Deitch, candidate for Norfolk County D.A. “As District Attorney, I will work tirelessly to deliver the justice that Sandra’s family deserves and ensure nothing like this happens to another family in Norfolk County again.”

Justice for Sandra Birchmore was founded in 2023 by Sandra’s family members and supporters to raise public awareness surrounding Sandra's tragic story in order to prevent this horrific situation from happening to another young person. In an effort to bring attention to Sandra’s case, Justice for Sandra Birchmore began organizing stand-outs, contacting members of the media, and otherwise generating attention for the injustice of the original determination that Sandra had died by suicide. Members of Justice for Sandra Birchmore continue to organize and advocate for Sandra as the federal murder case against Matthew Farwell continues toward a trial date later this year.
