American Legion Baseball State Tournament Starts Aug 1 in Franklin

For the first time ever, Franklin's Eddie Grant American Legion Post 75 is hosting the American Legion State Junior ( under 17) Baseball tournament. The Playoffs will begin on August 1st and run thru August 5 at Franklin High School field. There will be 3 or 4 games per day, until a state champion is determined. That team will then go on to play in regionals and national playoffs. 

Franklin has always had strong teams under the coaching of Senior Team’s Tyler Pasquarosa,and Junior Team coach Brett Edmunds and this year is no different. 

There will be refreshments available at the games as well.

The American Legion first sponsored a baseball league in 1925. American Legion Baseball was organized “to teach practical lessons in sportsmanship and citizenship by emphasizing such qualities as loyalty,
respect for the rules, fair play, courage and physical fitness.”

The Senior Playoffs have been held at Fino Field in Milford.

"We would love to see the town come and support our Frankin Legion teams, " said Dick Hynes, Commander
American Legion Post 75.
