Sharks Come Cruisin, is a hard-to-describe but highly popular 21st century take on the salty songs of the sea known as sea shanties....They've developed a cult following around New England and in the British Isles, and they are coming to the Franklin Public Library Saturday afternoon, from 3:30 to 54:30, for free....
Be prepared to dance and sing along! The event is free of cost and open to the public and no registration is required.
Heard them last year at Providence Athenaeum and the audience couldn't get enough. But, as they say, don't take our word for it. How about this review:
Lotsa banjo, fiddle, accordion, two-steppin' kinda tempos and robust, absurdly catchy shout-along choruses. And a million bands coulda f---d this up royally, but these guys sound like they're having more goddamned FUN than almost anyone I've heard this century. --the Noise, Rock Around Boston
