U.S. Senate Candidate Visits Franklin

John Deaton is a candidate  for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts,  who says he is `running as a voice for balance,
accountability, and practical solutions for working families,' was in Franklin on Monday afternoon, making various stops including a mini-town hall of veterans at an area coffee shop. Above, Deaton is pictured with VFW member and RTC chair, Charles  Bailey, in front of the town's World War I monument.

In his meeting with veterans, pictured below, he fielded questions about fraud, school safety and a variety of local issues including how to help get Norwood Hospital back on its feet.

Deaton committed to ensuring  access to quality, affordable  care — inside or outside the VA — and fighting to cut `red tape 'that drives  up costs and delays services. He has also taken provocative stances against members of Congress investing in companies that could benefit from the policies they implement and making it harder to take jobs out of office that relate to areas that have been subject to legislation by a member. He also supports term limits -- a clear jab at Markey, who has been in Washington for decades.
