Franklin Police Report Severe Crash on Lincoln Street

In a relatively unusual move, the Franklin Police Department posted a news item about an early morning (or overnight) car crash on Lincoln Street, along with a photograph of the aftermath.

According to the posting, which appears to have been made early Saturday,  the driver of the vehicle pictured  tried passing someone in his travel lane. Doing so nearly caused a head on collision in the other travel lane. The vehicle crashed off the side of the road avoiding the collision. 

The operator was charged with:

1. Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Revoked License as a Habitual Traffic Offender

2. Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle

3. Marked Lanes Violation

The posting also discouraged drivers from driving outside of marked lanes.
