Harry G. Schreffler, Jr. 88, of Franklin, MA passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He is the beloved husband for 42 years of Janice M. (Graham) Schreffler and previously the late Joyce Marie (Davis) Schreffler-Godbout. He is the loving father of Ronald Schreffler and wife Richene of Panama City, FL, Steven Schreffler and wife Lynne of Woonsocket, RI, Harry G. Schreffler III (Skip) and wife Melinda of Bartlett, TN and Kim Schreffler and fiancé Matthew Wagner of Bellingham, MA. He leaves his cherished grandchildren Ryan Schreffler, Adam Schreffler, Justin Schreffler, Joshua Schreffler, Jacob Schreffler, Collin Schreffler, Grace Schreffler, Matthew Schreffler and the late William Matthew Schreffler, and his cherished great-grandchildren Bayleigh Schreffler, Everleigh Schreffler, Sophia Schreffler and Ava Schreffler. Born in Carlisle, PA on June 2, 1934, he is the son of the late Harry G., Sr. and Flourance (Snoddy) Schreffler.

He was a resident of Franklin since 1980 formerly of Bellingham and Carlisle, PA where he was raised. He was a graduate of Carlisle High School class of 1952. He entered the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War from 1953 to 1957 attaining the rank of A/2C and also served in the National Guard of Pennsylvania.

After his military service, he continued his education at Berklee School of Music and Boston Conservatory receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. Harry started his music teaching career in Lancaster, MA, and in 1973 began his career at Bellingham Memorial Junior Senior High School until retiring in 1999. After retiring, he still continued to volunteer at the high school for many years. Harry was very active in the Old Colony Council of the Boy Scouts of America proudly serving for 53 years. He was the Assistant Curator of the Museum at Camp Squanto in Plymouth, MA. Harry will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, March 29th from 5PM to 8PM at Cartier’s Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 30th at 11AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland, MA.
