Mansfield Murder Victim Formerly from Franklin

According to several published reports, the victim in the Saturday morning murder in Mansfield, Samuel P. Waters, 23, was formerly from Franklin and appears to have attended Franklin High School in the recent past and, later, Nichols College.

William O’Brien, 22, was charged with murder in the crime in which the victim was shot multiple times and is being held without bail.

According to published accounts, O’Brien was arrested wearing body armor and reportedly often wore armor and carried a gun. The published reports suggest sales of marijuana may have played a role in the situation.

Mansfield Police referred questions to the Bristol County District Attorney. The Bristol County District Attorney did not respond Tuesday to an email inquiry.
