The FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) announced that the Franklin Police Department has been awarded the FBI-LEEDA Agency Trilogy Award. The award honors the department’s achievement in completing a cutting-edge leadership development program designed to strengthen law enforcement leadership on a global scale. The Franklin Police Department is the ninth law enforcement agency in Massachusetts to earn this award.
The Franklin Police Department’s entire Command Staff completed an engaging three-part leadership series that trains officers on topics such as diversity and inclusion, bias, public trust, transformational leadership, social and emotional intelligence and more. FBI-LEEDA's President Chief Donna McNamara, who serves as the Chief of Police for the Stoughton Police Department in Stoughton, Massachusetts, presented the Franklin Police Department with the award.
"Earning the Agency Trilogy Award is a testament to the Franklin Police Department’s dedication to leadership development,” said Chief Donna McNamara, President of FBI-LEEDA. “FBI-LEEDA is extremely impressed by the Franklin Police Department staff’s mastery of leadership skills. We are pleased to present this award to the department’s entire command staff and the residents of Franklin.”
FBI-LEEDA's specially designed courses cultivate strong leadership skills in law enforcement commanders at all levels, empowering them to better serve their agencies and the communities they protect. Using a “cops talking to cops” approach, the seminar is instructed by seasoned law enforcement leaders from across the country who bring unique expertise to each class.
“Our department is proud of the Command Staff’s hard work in earning the Agency Trilogy Award,” said Chief Thomas J. Lynch, Franklin Police Department. “We prioritize the continuous training of our officers, and we look forward to applying these courses in our day-to-day service in the Franklin community.”
Since the inception of the Agency Trilogy Award, 130 law enforcement organizations have been recognized for excellence in leadership and completion of FBI-LEEDA's flagship courses. In 2024 thus far, 16 agencies have completed the courses. About FBI-LEEDA
