Observer Story Probed by Talk Radio Host Howie Carr

Howie Carr, the colorful conservative controversialist, has been having a field day lately beating up on Norfolk County Attorney General Michael Morrissey, "Meatball Morrissey" in Carr's parlance. Monday morning, Carr heard from a listener about a Franklin Observer story from July 8 in which we recapped some of the key events of the Karen Read case and shared an encounter with the AG from May 1:

In May, Morrissey, attending a SAFE Coalition fundraiser, told the Observer, “Read is guilty, it’s just that the jury hasn’t figured that out yet.”

Carr was taken aback by Morrissey candor and contacted the AG to confirm his comments and contacted Franklin Observer to confirm our belief in the veracity of the reporting.

The conversation with Howie Carr occurred  in radio primetime, around 5:30 pm on Monday. The exchange, which can be found here, runs from about 21.09 to 27.42.
