It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Edward Ficco, Jr, age 63. “Bobby” passed away suddenly at his home from cardiac arrest on December 18. He was born on December 16, 1961, in Norwood, Massachusetts and recently celebrated his birthday with friends and family.

Bobby graduated from Franklin High School in 1979. He attended Bryant University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business in 1983.

Bobby worked and co-managed Ficco’s Bowladrome for almost 30 years. He helped develop and run the children’s bowling league on Saturday mornings. He also started candlepin “bumper bowling” in Franklin to help children build confidence and learn to bowl. He cared deeply for the children in the program and the program was very important to him. He also built and ran a commercial cleaning business before retiring in 2013.

After retiring, Bobby moved to his favorite vacation destination, Hilton Head, South Carolina in November 2013. During his time in South Carolina, he loved attending concerts with friends, working part-time, and spending time at the beach playing beach golf. He was a passionate Red Sox fan and loved going to games with his friends, nieces, and nephews.

Bobby will be remembered for his kind heart and love for friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Bobby is survived by his parents, Robert and Eleanor (Kachaluba) Ficco of Franklin, MA, sisters, Bonnie Carey and husband John of Newton, MA, and Karen Sachs and husband Mike of Ashburn, VA. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews whom he cherished - Michael Sachs, Steven Sachs, Jack Carey, Erin Carey, and Megan Carey. He also leaves behind many, many, friends.
