Saturday Morning: Easter Eggs and Musket Balls?

It's a busy Saturday Morning.

At 80 West Central Street in Franklin, it’s time once again for fun
and photo ops with the Franklin Historical Museum Easter Bunny, who
will be meeting and greeting kids of all ages from 11 to noon. The
museum is open from 10-1. Activities and admission are free.

On a more serious note, the Historical Commissions of Wrentham and its three 'daughter towns' (Franklin, Norfolk and Plainville) are pooling efforts to commemorate the Minutemen of the region who heard the alarm from Lexington and Concord and promptly marched off to support their fellow patriots.

The free event starts inside the Gavel Restaurant at 36 South St., Wrentham at 10 am with short historical remarks and a reading of the names of the Wrentham Minutemen of 1775 who marched on April 19 as well as those who participated in the Siege of Boston shortly after. Two area reenactors will be part of the events and will demonstrate and discuss the important role of these historical figures and the life of a citizen-soldier 250 years ago.

The event will continue outside, on Wrentham Common until approximately 11 am. There is some on-street parking as well as a municipal lot at the corner of Route 140 and Route 1A.
