The VFW and American Legion in Franklin teamed up with other volunteers to put on an intimate luncheon for the town's veterans of the Korean War, all in their 90s, on Sunday, marking the month in which the Korean War's fighting largely ended. The war began in 1950, 75 years ago.
The vets said they appreciated the chance to reconnect and share life- and wartime-experiences.

Norwood Police Chief Christopher Padden reports that the Norwood Police Department pursued and arrested six Maryland women for alleged Breaking & Entering and related charges following a incidents on Neponset Street last week.
All six suspects — MIRABELA CALDARAU, 42, JAJELA CHICIU, 41, FLAVIA CALDARARU, 22, EMILIA SARDARU, 36, MIHAELA ION, 33, and ELIZABETH SARDARU, 21 — had Maryland addresses and were charged with:
During booking, two suspects were found to have obscured or altered fingerprints, preventing initial identification. Norwood Police worked with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), to confirm all suspects’ identities. All six individuals had Maryland addresses, and several had active warrants from other states for similar offenses. All six suspects were held without bail and transported to Dedham District Court for arraignment on Monday. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was notified and present at the court. Three of the six were released on bail and immediately taken into ICE custody. Two men who arrived at court to post bail were also taken into ICE custody.
