Take a break from spooky and experience and bright, lively, timeless tunes of the Greenwich Bay Brass Ensemble -- a free concert in the pleasant intimate space of the Franklin Historical Museum at 80 West Central.
The Rhode Island-based ensemble, a favorite with local audiences will play a mixture of well known Turn-of-the-20th Century songs , Marches including "National Emblem" and "On The Mall ", Scott Joplin's "Chrysanthemum" Rag and well known Patriotic Songs opened by a sparkley version of Eric Leidzen's The Trumpeters.
Greenwich Bay performs throughout New England to promote the brass band style and entertain audiences. Consisting of a mixture of professional and highly skilled amateur musicians alike, the GBB repertoire includes a variety of music including traditional brass band pieces, salvationist repertoire, orchestral transcriptions, jazz, show tunes, Christmas holiday tunes, and popular music.
As an Ensemble with 10-12 players, Greenwich Bay is able to perform in smaller venues than a full brass band, and have a wider range of repertoire available.
The Museum Opens at 1 and the performance is expected to begin around 2. The event is free but get their early for the best seats.
