The Franklin High School Panthers girls volleyball team from Franklin, claimed the first-ever State Championship in program history in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Division 1 girls’ volleyball final.
The final took place on Saturday, November 15 2025 at Billerica High School, where Franklin defeated Newton North Tigers (who had won three consecutive championships) by a 3–2 margin (set scores: 25-15, 25-27, 19-25, 25-23, 15-12).
With that win, Franklin finished the season with a 23-2 record and earned the top state ranking in Division 1.
According to published sources, a number of standout performances powered the victory: senior outside hitter Makayla Kuykendall delivered 19 kills in the championship match and senior middle blocker Livi Alberti made significant contributions with kills, blocks and an ace.
For Franklin’s girls volleyball team the win marks a historic milestone, dethroning a powerhouse opponent and bringing home their program’s first major state title in a thrilling five-set battle.
