FRANKLIN: James Estin Calnan

James Estin Calnan, 74, of Rochester, Vermont , died peacefully January 7. He was the husband of the late Sandy Calnan for 50 years.

Born in Milford, April 10, 1951, the son of Regina L. (Hanlon ) Picard and the late John W. Calnan, Jim grew up in Franklin and lived the later half of his life in the Green Mountains of Vermont.

He was a carpenter, farmer and father. Priding himself on his very impressive gardens and old ways of living.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Calnan) Cavacas and her husband Zach of Vermont.

He is also survived by his sisters Margaret Calnan of Franklin and Jennifer (Calnan) Whitfield and her husband William of Franklin.

He is also survived by his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

His funeral service and burial will be private.
