Richard “Dick” Omer Landry, 86, of Taunton, MA. passed away peacefully on January 15th, 2026. Born in Franklin, MA., July 7th, 1939. He was the husband of the late Linda L. (Lazzerini) Landry. He was the son of the late Caroline (Conley) Landry and the late Omer A. Landry.

Dick was the son and nephew of the owners of the “Landry Brothers” brick works business in Franklin MA. He followed in his father and uncles’ footsteps learning the bricklaying trade at an early age eventually joining the Bricklayers Union. Not only was he a skilled bricklayer but he was also an artistic stone mason having a wider skill set. Anything he created he worked to perfection; he was a true craftsman frequently being requested by contractors because of his reputation for exceptional attention to detail and work ethic. So much so, that years after he retired, his daughter was told by a young man in the community, who had become a member of the union, that as he was being taught how to lay bricks, he was told, “Dick Landry did it this way.”

As a young man he was an avid bowler, loved to dance the jitterbug and had an affinity towards nice cars and motorcycles. He raised three daughters and taught them how to change a car tire, replace the car radiator and change the oil, amongst many things.

After retiring from bricklaying, Dick invested in catering wherein he and Linda put their all into their catering company for many years alongside their children.
Early 2000’s Dick and Linda then moved to Santa Monica, California to run a boarding house providing accommodations to female college students coming to study from abroad, building lifelong friendships with extraordinary young women.

There he got back to his favorite pastime-drawing, sharing his beautiful talent with so many.

He was fascinated with science fiction, alien life forms and the supernatural. He also loved watching Westerns and Visiting Casinos, having a penchant for slot machines while Linda preferred black jack. He was a true friend, naturally social, great sense of humor and the most genuine human anyone was fortunate enough to know.
He was proud of and loved his sisters, cousins, children, nieces, nephews, grand-children, great-grand-children. He was known as the baby whisperer and dog whisperer by all who knew him. He loved visiting his two daughters in Florida, loving helping them with his never ending “daddy-do-list”, joining in their dancing night life, social gatherings and preparing for and co-hosting their holiday parties.
