 Afternoon Tea by Kristen Perone

The Franklin Art Association warmly welcomes the public to it’s next public meeting on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:30 PM at the Franklin Senior Center. Our guest artist demonstrator will be gouache artist, Kristen Perone. She is a still life artist using the media acrylic gouache (a thicker than watercolor consistency, water-based media) . Within the typical subjects in a still life, Perone mixes in personal touches using her own teapots, cups and animal figurines that were collected on treasure hunts with loved ones in the 70’s and 80’s; grounding her scenes in nostalgia. The paintings are mean to spark renewed energy and liveliness, as if, something old in now new again!

She uses flora and fauna to reflect her love of Nature. She hopes her tablescapes spark new conversations, connections and contemplation. Kristen is a mother to 4 daughters and 5 grandchildren. She is a Grafton Public school Literacy Coordinator by day and a studio painter by night.

The Franklin Art Association takes pride in offering a student scholarship yearly to a local art student wishing to pursue art instruction after high school graduation. Donations are Welcome and the FAA is having an on-going raffle of local artist, Peg Munson’s seashore pastel artwork;

proceeds for the scholarship. Please join us at our monthly meetings for an art creation demonstration, the camaraderie of art conversation and refreshments at intermission.
