The Franklin Historical Museum hosted a World Class array of experts discussing the rich regional history of soccer, on June 14 and, thanks to Franklin TV, the event is now accessible on Youtube

The story includes the Oneida Football Club that helped inaugurate organized "foot ball” of the American variety on Boston Common in the 1860s as well as innumerable teams and players in Southeastern, Mass. playing "association" football based on English rules in the 19th and early 20th century.

The panelists included top-scoring FHS soccer player and long-time soccer coach, Rich Frongillo (pictured above), Kristine Moore, a historian employed at the Patriot's Hall of fame, as well as Dr. Kevin Tallec Marston, long-time Research Fellow & Lecturer with FIFA’s International Centre for Sport Studies (CIES) in Switzerland. He is also current president of the Society for American Soccer
History
(SASH).
And, in case you missed it, Kevin got interviewed in the Boston Globe over the weekend....https://www.bostonglobe.com/2026/06/29/metro/kevin-tallec-marston-boston-common/
