Franklin Water Main Break ~ Shady Lane & Hawthorne Drive

As of early evening Wednesday, crews were  mobilizing and heading to the location for repairs. The DPW says to expect interruptions in water service.

Sanford Dam Report Out

The Town of Medway is pleased to announce that the Sanford Dam Alternatives Analysis Report has been completed and is available on the Town’s website. The
report evaluates potential alternatives for the future of the Sanford
Dam and provides important information to help inform future
discussions. Please note, no decisions have been made regarding the future of the dam, as ownership of the structure remains unknown.

Running a Convenience Store is a SNAP

The owner of a small convenience in Boston was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Boston for fraudulently obtaining millions of dollars’ worth of Supplemental Nutrition  Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. The defendant’s monthly SNAP  redemptions in his 150 square foot store ranged from $100,000 – $500,000 per month, far outpacing full-service supermarkets which redeem approximately $82,000 per month in SNAP benefits.

Nurses Strike impacting Foxborough, Too

Hundreds of Brigham and Women's Hospital nurses paraded around Longwood  Medical Area on Wednesday, blaring horns, ringing cowbells and banging  on makeshift drums as part of a historic strike in pursuit of
cost-of-living increases and affordable health insurance, among other  demands. Management responded with a lockout. And, locally, the Foxborough Ambulatory Surgery Center is reportedly  closed  through Friday, with all affected patient procedures being rescheduled.
