The Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation, the nonprofit, private charitable foundation established by Middlesex Savings Bank, one of the largest mutual banks in Massachusetts, announced donations of $486,562 to 37 local nonprofits.
The Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation formally awards grants to nonprofit organizations on a semiannual basis. These contributions have played a valuable role in funding various initiatives aimed at improving food access, providing educational opportunities, and raising the standard of living for vulnerable families and individuals.
In its 26 years of operation, the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation has given more than $19 million in grants to local nonprofits. This investment represents the Foundation's ongoing dedication to improving the quality of life for individuals across the communities it serves.
The 37 grant recipients were selected based on the alignment of their missions with the Foundation and represent an assortment of services operating within the Middlesex Savings Bank community. The grants serve as an acknowledgement that these organizations are creating meaningful, sustainable change in our communities through their programs.
"We are deeply grateful to the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation for their generous support of our project and for their belief in our ongoing work to serve local residents with kindness, dignity, and respect," said Susan Dietrich, executive director of the Medway Food Pantry. "This funding will help us create a single, dedicated home for the Medway Food Pantry, bringing together Medway’s two pantry operations in one market-style location where people can choose the groceries and other items that best meet their needs. For the individuals and families who rely on us, this new space will mean more reliable access to nutritious food, fresh produce, household essentials, and compassionate support in a welcoming environment. We are proud to have the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation as a partner in making this vision possible."
