FRANKLIN: Joanne Patricia Dixon

Joanne P. [Carlson] Dixon, 88, passed away peacefully at home on July 14th, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Her greatest gift was making those around her feel loved, and her home was always a place of comfort, laughter, and welcome.

Born
on October 27th, 1937, in Franklin, Massachusetts, Joanne lived a life
filled with faith, friendship, and love. She was the beloved wife of
Walter W. Dixon, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories.

Joanne
was a devoted mother to her son, Marc Dixon and his wife, Cheri, and
her daughter, Kathy and her husband, David. She was a proud grandmother
to Kimberly, Todd, Stephanie, and Ashley, and a loving great-grandmother
to Dakota, Logan, Tegan, Tenley, Jennifer, Bradley, Brendan, Kayden,
and Nathan. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every
moment spent with them.

Joanne loved bowling and was a
proud member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress (WIBC). She
also enjoyed golfing and belonged to Eagle Haven, Honeybee, and Stumpy
Lake golf clubs. She valued the friendships she made through the sports
she loved and enjoyed the laughter and camaraderie they brought.

A
faithful Catholic, Joanne lived with quiet strength, kindness, and
compassion. She had a warm smile that made everyone feel welcome, and
she devoted herself to her family and her many close friends. She will
be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering love, and the joy she
brought to those fortunate enough to know her.

Joanne
is survived by her loving husband, Walter W. Dixon; her children, Marc
Dixon (Cheri) and Kathy (David); her grandchildren, Kimberly, Todd,
Stephanie, and Ashley; and her great-grandchildren, Dakota, Logan,
Tegan, Tenley, Jennifer, Bradley, Brendan, Kayden, and Nathan.

Joanne’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

A
celebration of Joanne's life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, July
25th, 2026 at Bayside Christian Church. 2224 Greenwell Road Virginia
Beach, VA 23455.
