MEDWAY: Barbara Henrietta Vlass (Lane)

Barbara Henrietta Vlass (Lane) 97 of Medway, MA passed away
peacefully after a long illness on July 15th 2026 surrounded by her
family.

Barbara attended Newton High School and graduated in 1948. In her
high school years, she volunteered at Newton Wellesley hospital. She
married Kenneth Vlass and had two boys. She was a member of the Newton
Upper Falls Woman’s Club and was also on the PTA at Emerson Elementary
School. She worked at Impact Electronics in Newton, MA as a sales rep.

Barbara enjoyed many things, camping, square dancing, sewing, knitting, traveling and spending time with family.

Barbara was one of 9 children and she loved to make sure everyone knew that.

Barbara was born on May 10th, 1929, in Newton, MA She was the daughter of the late Russel Lane and Georgina Lane (Davey)

Barbara leaves behind her son Kenneth Vlass Jr. and his Wife Julie of
Summit, NJ; her son Garry Vlass and his wife Nancy of Millis, MA and
her 104 year old sister, Martha Sonnier of Louisiana. She also leaves
behind 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and
nephews.

Barbara is predeceased by her husband Kenneth Vlass Sr. Her parents
Russel & Georgina Lane. Her siblings Enid DeDoming, Doreen Sheridan,
Frank Lane, Graham Lane, Alton Lane, Virginia Dolph and Patricia
Martin

A Funeral Service will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351
Highland Avenue, Needham, on Friday, July 17 at 11am. Visitation will be
held on Friday mornig from 10 -11 am, prior to the service. Interment
will take place at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Needham.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s association of Massachusetts and New Hampshire Alz.org/manh,
