On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Officer James Kilduff attempted to stop a black Chevrolet Corvette after observing that it was displaying a registration plate not issued to the vehicle, along with other motor vehicle violations.

The operator, later identified as Daniel Robinson, 29, of Newton, refused to stop and led officers on a brief vehicle pursuit. The vehicle continued into Franklin and entered Interstate 495, where Robinson’s increasingly dangerous operation created a significant risk to the public. The pursuit was terminated, and surrounding law enforcement agencies were immediately provided with the vehicle’s description and direction of travel. Moments later, officers located the vehicle after it exited the highway onto West Central Street in Franklin. Robinson continued through the area before stopping near the Highwood Drive complex off Panther Way in Franklin. He then exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area. Franklin and Bellingham officers pursued Robinson on foot and took him into custody a short distance from the vehicle without further incident.

As a result of the incident, Robinson is expected to be arraigned in Milford District Court on charges including:

Failure to Stop for Police

Operating to Endanger

Operating After Suspension

Registration Plate Violations

Unregistered Motor Vehicle

Uninsured Motor Vehicle

Additional motor vehicle offenses

The incident remains under investigation. The charges are allegations, and Robinson is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
