Changes Implemented at I-495 King St Ramp

Please familiarize yourself with the recent traffic pattern changes at the I-495 Northbound off-ramp and King Street intersection. Motorists exiting I-495 Northbound and turning right onto King Street are now required to come to a complete stop before proceeding.These changes are part of ongoing efforts to improve safety at the intersection. We would like to thank the Town of Franklin Officials and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) for their collaboration and commitment to enhancing roadway safety for everyone

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing a traffic control change at the I-495 northbound off-ramp intersection with King Street in the Town of Franklin.

The right turn from the I-495 northbound off-ramp onto King Street has been placed under Stop control, effective the morning of Friday, July 24. Traffic taking the right turn shall come to a complete stop prior to the crosswalk, and should ensure that that are no conflicting pedestrians, bicyclists, or vehicle before completing the turn.

The traffic control change is part of several actions recently completed by MassDOT to address safety concerns at this intersection.

Drivers who are traveling through this intersection should use caution. Appropriate signage, pavement markings, and portable message boards are in place to guide drivers.
