Franklin residents graduate from Montrose School

MEDFIELD, Mass.—Leslie Baker, Mackenzie Cassler, Katherine Hanifin and Catherine Lynch of Franklin graduated from Montrose School in Medfield, Mass on Friday, May 31.

Leslie received high honors as well as the Montrose Spirit of Service Award. She was selected as co-Captain for Varsity Soccer and Varsity Softball and recognized as a IGC Softball All-Star. Leslie served as BioBuilder Team co-leader, Model UN Vice President and SADD Club President. Additionally, her team’s work developing a detection system for Salmonella typhi through the BioBuilder’s Club was recently published in BioTreks, an international peer-reviewed academic journal. Leslie will attend Cornell University in the fall.

Mackenzie was co-Captain of Varsity Field Hockey, co-Captain of Varsity Basketball and Varsity Lacrosse. She received recognition as All NEPSAC player in both Field Hockey and Basketball, and IGC All-Star in basketball and lacrosse by the Boston Globe. Mackenzie also received both the Montrose Inspiration Award and Reverend Richard Rieman Award. She will attend Babson College and is committed to play lacrosse.

Katherine founded the Montrose Entrepreneurship and Student Film Clubs and managed the Volleyball team. She will attend the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in the fall.

Catherine received high honors and the Montrose Portrait Award. Recognized as a Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic Athlete, she played Varsity Soccer and Varsity Lacrosse for five years, and was selected as Varsity Soccer co-Captain. Catherine, on a team with Leslie, above, developed a detection system for Salmonella typhi through the BioBuilder’s Club was recently published in BioTreks, an international peer-reviewed academic journal.She will attend Boston College in the fall.
