Republicans from across the Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex District, which spans from Needham to Milford, converged on Franklin Thursday evening to hear from candidates who hope to represent them on the Republican State Committee.

The capacity crowd, many of whom had to stand due to lack of seats, heard from veteran state committeewoman Maureen Maloney of Milford and Wrentham contender, Amanda Peterson.

Also present were Andy Johanson of Milford and Eric Calton of Needham, each aiming to become the state committeeman for the district.

The moderator, Franklin activist and RTC vice chair Dashe Videira, put the candidates through a range questions, many touching on the candidate's plans to help reenergize the party as voters grow wary of existing Beacon Hill policies. Attendees came from as far afield as South Boston.

Republican State Representative Marcus Vaughn, from Norfolk, also attended.

The state committee candidates will be elected as part of the Republican Primary on March 5.
