FRANKLIN/MEDWAY: Donna Mary Hogdon

Donna Mary (Aldrich) Hodgdon, 68, of Franklin, passed away peacefully at home on January 14, with her beloved by her side, following a long illness.

Born in Chelsea on March 13, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Warren D. and Irene S. (Bouchard) Aldrich. Donna was raised in Medway and had lived in Franklin for the past 39 years.

Donna graduated from Medway High School and Burdett College. For over four decades, she worked as an executive assistant, including for the International Planning Group and SunLife Financial.

An accomplished runner, Donna completed 11 Boston Marathons. She loved to travel, especially on the many cruises she took with her family. Donna enjoyed skiing, music, retail therapy, Scrabble, and Words with Friends. She cherished long walks on Humarock Beach with her loving husband, Dale. Above all, Donna cherished time spent with her large extended family and longtime friends.

Donna is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dale E. Hodgdon, her son, Patrick Hodgdon, and his wife, Leanna, of Worcester. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Nico and Lily.

Donna is also survived by her seven siblings: Warren D. Aldrich, Jr. of North Carolina, Patricia Hand of Bellingham, Deborah Giordano, her identical twin, of Melrose, Mark Aldrich of Medway, Greg Aldrich of Florida, Brian Aldrich of Bellingham, and Paul Aldrich of Attleboro.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 19, at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home,(ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway, from 2-5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
