Four Demonstrate Support for Karen Read
A small group of Karen Read supporters demonstrated at the noon hour in front of the Village Mall in Franklin on Sunday. Monday's court proceedings again produced a defense demand for a mistrial. The judge, Beverly Cannone, denied the request.
No Legal Representation
The Mass. Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys is reporting that hundreds of individual in custody in Massachusetts do not have a court-assigned lawyer due to low pay and the number of attorneys who have moved away from the field as a consequence.

In an echo of comments made by the then-attorney general in support of violent Boston rioters in 2020, gubernatorial candidate Mike Kennealy is condemning statements of support Governor Healey has made for California rioters that have shutdown freeways and torched vehicles.
