Elizabeth (Derby) MacGilvra, 93, of Franklin passed away peacefully November 29, 2025 at Benchmark Senior Living. She was the wife of Bruce MacGilvra for 36 years.
Born in Concord Massachusetts July 20, 1932, daughter of the late Robert and Eleanor (Fletcher) Derby of Stow, Massachusetts. She was sister of the late Robert and Roger Derby.
Elizabeth lived in Stow for 90 years, graduated from Hale High School and Boston University with a B.A. in Education. She was a kindergarten teacher in Stow in the 1960’s. Her work ethic and love of people kept her working in food service until the age of 87. She loved cooking and collecting recipes, and she was often seen out walking. Her greatest love was her family, enjoying time with her daughters, granddaughters, and recently her great-grandchildren.
Beloved mother of Holly Holzman and her husband David and Lisa Davis and her husband Alan. Cherished grandmother of Kirsten Pajka and her husband Seth, Elizabeth Montefusco and her husband Francesco, and Alexandra Holzman. Great grandmother to William, Phoebe, and Gabriella.
Elizabeth’s services will be private.
