Margaret A. (Young) Perkins, 72, of Medway, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Boston Medical Center, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer.

Margaret is survived by her six children, Rebecca Duncan of Virginia, Katherine Cadorette of Fitchburg, Mass, Daniel Perkins of Virginia, Kieran Hawthorne of Michigan, Hannah Perkins of Rutland, Mass, and Raymond Perkins of Oregon; as well as many beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all.

Margaret was born in Takoma Park, MD, daughter of the late Raymond A. and Margaret E. (Kober) Young. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Elizabeth Hormann.

She had a lifelong love of learning and in addition to attaining her bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, she later attained multiple master’s degrees, including a Master’s of Library Science and most recently a Master’s of Public Administration. Margaret worked for over 20 years for the Town of Medway, earlier this year retiring from her position as Library Director.

Margaret had a special affection for dogs and she loved swimming, taking cruises and hiking, as well as volunteering her time to worthy causes, especially 4-H. However, she was truly happiest when she was able to spend time with her family.

Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the 4-H Foundation.

Funeral services are being held privately and are under the direction of Alfred Roy & Sons – Henry Funeral Service Memorial Chapel 33 Ward St. Worcester.
