Alan
Young was first introduced to license plate collecting by his father,
more than 25 years ago and "never looked back." Today he is a director of the Colonial Chapter of the Automobile License Plate Collector Association (ALPCA) . What
started with an interesting plate or two in childhood has grown into a wide range
of (mostly) New England license plates as well as research into who
the early plates once belonged to.

As a collector of early license plates for over thirty-five years, Alan has built a library of research material and registration listing books that allow us to unlock the mysteries of the earliest registrants in Massachusetts cities and towns, including what they drove and where they lived. Alan will share some of his
collection and discuss the development of plates over the past 120
years. He has also promised to reveal the first automobile to be
registered in Franklin and its owner!  He will also show a small sampling of his collection.

The museum opens at 1 and the program will
start at 1:15 The museum ocloses at 4. Admission is
free but a suggested donation of $5 or more is always encouraged
appreciated.

Alan is a resident of Pepperell but works in Franklin.
