FRANKLIN, MA: Steven G. Gould, 58, formerly of Haverhill, passed away on March 1, 2026 at UMMH Milford Regional Hospital.

The oldest of six children, Steve was active in Cub Scouts. He often led the three oldest brothers in evening wrestling matches against Dad on the living room floor. Steve had a love for Marvel Comics, rock music, and weekend family visits to Newton and Kingston, NH. One of his first jobs was at McDonald’s, which was a dream come true for his younger brothers.

In 1985, at just eighteen years old, Steve was involved in a serious crash that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. Though the injury brought lifelong health challenges, he faced them with remarkable courage and perseverance. He was known for his warm smile, quick wit, and generous heart.

Despite the obstacles, he endured. Steve inspired those around him with his kindness and determination. He had a way of lighting up a room and was always ready to share what he had – often offering his own money or surprising others with thoughtful gifts and meals as a simple expression of gratitude.

Steve was predeceased in death by his father, George H. Gould, Jr. (1938-2019), and his younger brother, Scott (1968-1998). He is survived by his mother, Noreen Gould of Haverhill; his brothers George of McConnells, SC, Timothy of Springfield, VT, and Brian of Haverhill; and sister Suzanne of Bernardston, MA, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be scheduled and announced at a later date.

Steve’s life was marked not by the challenges he faced, but by the kindness he gave so freely, and he will be remembered most for the warmth he brought into the lives of others.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill, MA. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.dcsfuneralhome.com.
