Beaver Street Interceptor Construction Updates ~ Monday (3/16) Through Thursday (3/19)

RT. 140 (West Central Street) Lane Closure Alert ~ Monday Night (3/16) thru Thursday Morning (3/19) 7pm to 5am

The Contractor will continue with the installation of the sewer force main within RT. 140 (West Central Street). The work will be contained within the southbound lane from Burger King to Beaver Street. During this time there will be evening lane closures on RT. 140. Please use caution when traveling in this area and follow all posted signs.  At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with construction of the internal building component installation and testing of the pumps. Bypass piping equipment will be onsite and protected by barriers. Access to the recreation center will NOT be affected during this time.

Injury with Entrapment

Friday afternoon, according to New England Fire News, Franklin Fire responded to the area of Pleasant Street and Chestnut Street to a car off the road "in a creek".  The victim was removed and transported to UMass Worcester with three medics on board.

The Paint Party Returns

The Franklin Cultural Council has funded a budget for Artist Amy Adams visit the Franklin Senior Center. "My programming offers Paint Party sessions that are accessible and inclusive while providing an opportunity for positive social experiences supporting mental health. The programming which is covered by the FCC grant- and funded by Mass Cultural Council makes each visit free to the center and its attendees, helping to alleviate both of the expense. So there are no additional fees. You just show up and paint! Dates include Thursday March 19th., April 16th, May 21st,  and June 18th, all are at 1pm. Reservations may be required. Check with the Senior Center.
