TPUSA Chapter Started By Students from Dean

Reportedly several students from Dean College have successfully chartered a chapter of Turning Point USA, Inc. (TPUSA) .  TPUSA is an American nonprofit organization that advocates for conservative politics on high school, college, and university campuses. It was founded in 2012 by Charlie Kirk (image above)  who was assassinated in 2025

Book Talk By Ali Rheaume

Ali Rheaume read from and spoke about (and autographed) her newly published book,  Buddy the Brain, at the Franklin Public Library on Friday.  The book, aimed at children but fun for adults, talks about keeping one's brain healthy and recovering from injuries.

Amy Adams Teaching at Franklin Sr. Center

Local artist, Amy Adams, led an introductory painting class at the Franklin Senior Center on Thursday for about 15 aspiring Monets. Her program was free thanks to the Massachusetts Cultural Council and Franklin Cultural Council. Additional sessions will be scheduled soon. Contact the Senior Center to participate.

Interceptor Project Construction Updates ~ Monday (3/23) Through Friday (3/27)

RT. 140 (West Central Street) Lane Closure Alert: Monday Night (3/23) through Thursday Morning (3/26), 7 PM to 5 AM and Friday (3/27) 7 AM to 3 PM.  The Contractor will continue with the installation of the sewer force main within RT. 140 (West Central Street). The work will be contained within the southbound lane from Burger King to Beaver Street. During this time there will be evening lane closures on RT. 140. Please use caution when traveling in this area and follow all posted signs.  At the Franklin Recreation Center, the construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with construction of the internal building component installation and testing of the pumps. Bypass piping equipment will be onsite and protected by barriers. Access to the recreation center will NOT be affected during this time.
