Construction Updates ~ Monday (5/11) Through Tuesday (5/12), 7 AM to 4PM

Beaver Street Pump Station

At the Franklin Recreation Center, construction of the new Beaver Street Interceptor Pump Station will continue with the installation of the water service into the building. The work will be contained within one lane on Beaver Street. During this time there will be a lane closure on Beaver Street between 7am and 4pm. Please use caution when traveling in this area and follow all posted signs.

Franklin Town Council Meets Wednesday at 6

Among the items on the agenda are reports from multiple subcommittees and ad hoc committees, including: Joint Budget Subcommittee (next meeting: TBD),. Economic Development Subcommittee (next meeting: May 14th, 6PM), Communications Subcommittee (next meeting: May 28th, 6PM),  Town Charter Ad Hoc Committee (next meeting: June 24th, 6PM), andn  Police Station Building Committee. There are also a slew of zoning amendments and three appointments to the disability commission on tap.

Strong April for Real Estate According to Register of Deeds

Norfolk County Register of Deeds William P. O’Donnell today released the real estate recording statistics for April 2026, which indicate strong real estate activity across Norfolk County, particularly in document recordings, deeds, and mortgage activity compared to April 2025. The Registry of Deeds recorded 9,468 documents in April 2026, a 9% increase compared to the 8,671 documents recorded in April 2025 and a 7% increase from March 2026.  “April 2026 demonstrated robust real estate activity, particularly in the number of deeds and mortgages recorded, which make up a significant portion of the documents processed by the Registry,” noted Norfolk County Register of Deeds William P. O’Donnell. “These increases suggest that buyers and sellers remain active in the market.”

Hope Health in Partnership

HopeHealth and the University of Rhode Island College of Nursing have entered into a formal academic-practice partnership aimed at advancing clinical education, training, and professional opportunities in the field of hospice and palliative care. HopeHealth is one of New England’s largest  nonprofit hospice and palliative care providers, servicing patients from the Franklin area as well as Rhode Island. The collaboration brings together HopeHealth’s clinical expertise with URI’s nursing education programs to create more structured pathways for students and professionals interested in this specialized field. The goal is to foster professional growth, improve patient care, and strengthen the academic-clinical interface.
