The wail of sirens across Franklin could be heard almost non-stop just before and after noon on Saturday. Most of them had to do with a fire at a Daniels Street residence.

According to Franklin Fire Chief James McLaughlin there were four people in the home at the time the blaze was discovered in a second story bedroom.

Everyone was able to evacuate and responding units initially from Franklin, later assisted by units from Bellingham, Medway, Norfolk and Wrentham quickly brought the fire under control. Gas and electric utilities were contacted as a precaution to disconnect service.

According to McLaughlin two individuals were transported by Medway ambulance to a hospital “as a precaution.” The fire department kept a unit on scene for several hours.
