According to multiple published reports, Millis police officer Craig Thompson has been placed on paid administrative leave by his department after being taken into custody on Sept. 30 by Medway Police.
According to a statement from Medway Chief of Police William Kingsbury: "Officers of the Medway Police Department made an arrest late in the afternoon on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, which has drawn media interest. The individual who was placed under arrest was arraigned at Wrentham District Court on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The details of the incident are protected by Massachusetts General Law Chapter 41 § 97D. As such, no information regarding what led to the arrest can be shared."
However, published reports on Thompson's arraignment on Oct. 1, at Wrentham District Court mention a domestic situation and an attempted strangulation.
Finally, according to a published report, Judge Sarah Jubinville, a member of the politically influential Norfolk County family, released Thompson without bail. His next court date is Oct. 14 for a pretrial hearing.

Thompson is reportedly a 10-year veteran of the Millis Police. A review of police disciplinary filings at the POST Commission website, did not list officer Thompson in connection with any infractions. However a 2017 news article noted that Thompson was involved in a crash with his cruiser and another vehicle that year. Thompson seriously injured his arm in the incident. The driver of the other vehicle was killed.
