Cheryl Ann Brote, 76, of Holliston, MA (formerly of Franklin), died peacefully in her home on October 6, 2025. Born in Malone, NY, on February 19, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Dame) and Lester “Bing” Bessette. She is predeceased by her beloved sister, Sandy Smith.

Cheryl spent her younger years growing up in Malone, where she formed friendships that lasted for decades and remained a presence in her life. She moved with her family to Worcester, MA, where she continued her High School years and graduated from Burncoat High School. She spent the early part of her sales career working for Scandinavian Design in Norwood, MA, and worked alongside her sister. The latter part of her career was spent as an Inside Saleswoman at Fortune Metal Finishing in Needham, MA, where she retired in 2017.

Cheryl loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for her loved ones and spending time together around the table. Her favorite tradition was hosting birthday dinners for her children and grandchildren, and she took special pride in cooking everyone’s favorite dish. Cheryl had a way of making everyone feel loved and cared for; to everyone (family and friends) she was “Grammy”.

She enjoyed the beach and loved visiting the beaches in Florida, especially the St. Pete Beach area, where she spent many happy vacations. Some of her favorite memories were vacations to Disney and the Bahamas with her grandchildren, and taking a special trip to Italy with her lifelong friends.

Cheryl is survived by three children, Colleen Paccioretti and her husband, Joseph, of Quincy, Erica Kuharich and her husband, Eric, of Holliston, and Jay Brote and his partner, Angela Lilienthal, of Franklin. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Shane, Anthony, Maria, Jordyn, Evan, Ty, and Ethin; three great-grandchildren; her nieces, Shannon Costello and Brooke Smith, and brother-in-law, Wayne Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th, from 5 pm to 8 pm at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 17th, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church in Holliston. Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Holliston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Assoc. alz.org
