Given the interest shown by town government in siting a new police station at either the former Davis Thayer School or, potentially, the Parmenter School, if it is surplused, we asked readers which they preferred or whether some other site would be a better bet.
The unscientific survey garnered 75 responses and the overwhelming favorite was Davis Thayer, located at the intersection of Union and West Central, which got 48 votes, or 64 percent.
The second choice, some other site, was second with 20 votes, or 26.7 percent
Poor Parmenter only earned 8 votes, or 10.7 percent.
